In This Episode, Part 1: Our Florida Trip from June to July 1969 - The Holmes family of father (and principal of Sunshine Elementary in South Shore, Kentucky) William C Holmes Jr and wife, Betty Jo and kids, Valerie and Bill III start out in a Howard Johnson Motel room and then on our way to St. Augustine, Florida and stop by an Alligator Farm and in Sarasota, Florida visit the Ringling Brothers Museum and watch a circus act. John and Mable Ringling built a really beautiful European style home on Sarasota Bay with 32 rooms, and built a Museum to house all his art works. The visit to the Ringling home is an experience in itself. The home is magnificent and the tours are 30 minutes long and very interesting. The Ringling Art Museum is really something to see. I visited it myself and the art work is breathtaking. The Art Museum has works by Titian, Hals, Velazquez.,etc. Ripling has one of the largest collections of Baroque Paintings.

Had the same experience as you, in 1983 when I visited Sarasota. The Ringling Brothers house is magnificent and the paintings as well! Will never forget seeing it. Thanks for giving my memories (didn't take pictures of it) a face again !
