He was not the most artistic skater in the history of the sport but from 1988 on he presented such a wonderful package on the ice of jumps, choreography, and excitement. He really knew how to play to his strengths.
Goosebumps! Boitano had/has such an (masculine) elegance in his skating routines. Whenever I watched Boitano skating, I rarely felt that he was going to fall after a jump. There are many other great skaters, but Boitano had/has that extra thing (aura?) which stamped his greatness, imho. I don't think that there are many who are still alive who have a jump named after them.
@HattieLovesCattie If you find the video of his Paris performance, do you think you will post it? I'd love to see the response. It is the best, I think, of all I've seen performed on YouTube.
@carolinemitsuko There are no more pro championships on TV.Ppl lost interest so they stopped doing them within ten years ago.I need to go back and look at my tapes of him doing this Carousel Waltz in Paris. They loved his " death drop ".
I am so happy that I finally found somebody who skated to this music! I always wanted to do a program to myself. Brian will never be known as the most artistic skater (all his program tend to look alike, but I never get tired of watching that tano lutz!
First rate! Never a bad performance, he's got it all.
