Trench Run

I dunno, I prefer this version over all the others I've seen. There's a lot of CGI in place, and shots I only remember from the later editions, so I doubt it's the original.

But the laser charging up REALLY underscores how important the mission was, and just how very, very close they came to failure.

Awesome scene this. Always gives me chills. Definitely in a Galaxy far far away from anything in the prequel trilogy, that's for sure.

that was a really nice touch with the laser starting to fire before the death star explodes. i wish lucas would have done that with the remastered edition.

Bah... Biggs is one of my favorite characters, the expanded universe exploring how he ended up here is great. Shame to see him get taken out. At least Wedge made it though...

Why did Gold Squadrom keep their shields set to double front and not even them out when the Ties came in behind them? I'd figure that the guns wouldn't have opened up on their own fighters. What were they worried about? I love the Y-Wing too.
