@naliss I'm sorry but i personally feel that you are incorrect, although i value your view on things. I agree that as far as we are currently aware, AI can only be programmed to think, but not think on its own. However, then you go on and say that Christians are more understanding than scientists on the matter. I personally find that statement EXTREMELY ignorant. As a general statement, religion as a whole slows down technology by believing in things surreal. So what you said is in fact wrong.

A robot will never be self-aware. It can only simulate self-awareness. It may not be fully understood yet, but there are some things, and not just a spirit, that makes humans a little different than ordinary systems. But I think Christians understand that better than scientists, so I give them credit. Religion is not crazy. The greeks and egyptians had more scientific genius than what humans today claim, with hardly any technology at their disposal.

I believe and indeed hope that Machines become Self aware. why? because in essence it will be a new form of life I so far believe in Three forms of life possible Carbon based thats us, Silicon based which is still to be proven but is hypothetically possible and Artificial Intelligence which we will one day create though I do Hope other forms life exist as well Self aware A.I would be the first step in not being alone as an intelligent Species.
