Get a mastiff, you wont be sorry (unless you want a small dog) I just love ours. He's very gentle and they make great security dogs, only because nobody would attempt to go into your house with that large dog with the big bark.

They are very loving dogs, but very protective. Some home insurance companies will not insure you if you own one so keep that in mind. Mastiff drool alot... but American Mastiff do not...
