I'm American, learned spanish and am learning japanese and korean now, so don't talk about us as a whole. But sadly you're right about most of the population. It;s required to take a foreign language from primary school but most people don't actually learn the language, they just do enough to get by. I love foreign everything, thats why I'm learning.There's a saying , "when you speak 2 languages you're bilingual, when you speak 3 languages youre trilingual, but when you speak 1 youre American."

@ed14chan Yeah, and it's especially difficult to do on the spot like that Dx Spanish is my second language and I'm fluent, but I'd still be terrified if I had to do a full interview in Spanish Dx I think he did a really good job, I understood him perfectly and that's the point, yeah? People who call him "retarded" for his English are just ignorant -_-
