  • I want this played at my funeral.

  • @sammni Well Scottish is English in a different dialect and since the song is to remember the warriors who stood on the line despite all odds who cares the language as anyone who has stood on the line and staired death in the face will understand this stand regardless if they are a daft Yank or a a kraut. I am a American of Scottish and English noble blood line and have seen what this song mentions.

  • @gray19801 Well I'm Scottish Clan MacDonald of Ranald, and you can find most information easily on the internet mate. Lowland Scots btw, is actually a german language used by Kind Richard the 2nd in the Scottish courts. In modern Scotland, typically the northerners speak Gaelic and the southerners speak Scots(as well as english of course).

  • @LordMacharius Very true and thank you for that info. The more I can learn of my ancestry is all the better. I will say it is still a good song for anyone who has seen the true hell of war.

  • @gray19801 Scottish is it's own language, called Scots Gaelic. Or the lowland language called Scots, which is like Scottish ebonics. The above is more or less like scots, but easier to read.

  • @gray19801 If I'm misunderstanding your comment, forgive me. But, Scottish is a language that belongs to the Gaelic family, and is closely related to Irish. English on the other hand, is a Germanic language. Scottish and English are very, very different.
