When did I ever use the word "Industrialized" in either of my previous two comments? The only two figures that I have presented had to to with the percent of known species that have gone extinct, the age of life on Earth, and the number of birds that have gone extinct since Columbus.

By attempting to build up a strawman argument against me by putting words in my mouth, all you have succeeded at doing is making yourself look like a fool. You should read my comments before you critique them.

You completely missed the point of my comment. I didn't deny my own responsibility for the problems that we face today, I just get tired of people walking around acting as if they aren't doing anything wrong. Obviously, I am not a hippie environmentalist that lives in the canopy of the redwood forest, otherwise I wouldn't be making this comment. I'm simply stating that we are all responsible for the harm that we are causing to the atmosphere and the science supports that. Don't deny the science.

And what are humans to do? Stay put and never attempt anything that might proliferate our species? The name of the game is survival. If species go extinct, then it's simply the course of nature. You wouldn't be here posting on this video if it wasn't for the actions that have no doubt caused what you construe as harm to the atmosphere and many species. If you really want to help the planet then throw away the life you have and go live under a rock, circa 190,000 BP.

Actually, the figure is greater than 99.9%, but that took 3.5 billion years to accomplish. Since Europeans colonized North America, well over 200 different species of birds have gone extinct and countless others will probably go extinct soon due to decreasing genetic diversity among the remaining populations. The fact is, humans have a huge effect on the biosphere and we are all equally responsible. We just have a hard time accepting it.

BTW Carlin confuses the word "planet" with "atmosphere."
