Do what your manufacturer recommends, the people who built it aren't retarded. Its stupid shit like abusing your car that causes problems...or using oils not specified in your manual (mostly a VW thing and stuff...most Euro and new cars have specific specifications that only certain full-synthetics meet). Every 3000 miles is overkill for %90 of engines out there.
dealer car service, they don,t want spend their time to fix it,they only want sell their new item much easier than cleaning it and more money /profit for this scumbag
I tend to change the oil in my 2 Jeep grand cherokee every 4k miles or so. Sometimes 3k tho, 3-4k is fine for any engine, i wouldnt go above 5k tho because after 4k miles on our 4.0 the oil is really black.
For this kind of sludge the customer did NOT change the oil every 7,500. That said, everyone should follow the harsh 5,000 mile or less, and if a dealership writes a reminder for 5,000 the customer won't bring it in until it is past due... Why not replace the cam shafts, sprocket, timing chain, and the head with all the valves (if they are bent)... then clean the engine??? Isn't that cheaper than a replacement?
i.e. gasket leak allowing coolant to contaminate the oil... Thermostat not working well keeping the temp too high boiling off the additives package and slugging up the oil... Shad he run Ams Oil or Mobile 1 Full Synthetic and honestly changed it at 7,500 and not encountered any temperature or contamination problems that engine would be fine.
Use a full synthetic and follow the oil mfg's recommended drain interval.

they didnt even check other issues like a clogged pcv, cheap oil, engine running too hot, engine running too cold etc

The type and brand of oil is also a factor, was it dino or synthetic oil?

There could be other causes.
