This video directed, shot and edited by Tom Foster features Misty and Elvis's favorite roller coaster, the Zippin Pippin. Built in 1912 at the Mid South Fairgrounds.
This video was delivered to the desks of Mayor Willie Herrenton and Robert Lipscomb a few days prior to a clip of it appearing on News Channel 24. The clip was tacked on to an announcement about a plan by Save LibertyLand Inc. and the Ericson Group to move the roller coaster to the Pyramid site.
So, far there are no plans for the Zippin Pippin or the Pyramid for that matter.
Great video! Great cause! Great coaster! Great song! Great Misty! Many thanks for making, posting!

We are still trying -- Misty is having an op-ed published this week in Memphis's Commercial Appeal calling for the Fairgrounds to be re-born via the Stimulus package as a public works project by retrofitting the rides & buildings to solar power! Thanks Misty, Tom, from all of us near & far.

How sad it is to think of the Great City of Memphis not recognizing a true player in the City's History. Thank you Misti and Friends for letting us listen to the dust settling on another forgotten Landmark of Time.

Makes me so sad. r.i.p libertyland..and the Zippin Pippin.
i worked there three summers...my first summer was a rides operator. (i ran the Spider). then i became the one who gave the operators breaks. so i had to learn all the rides..i was lucky enough to push the button and pull the break a few times..
definitely a loss, for Memphis and that area of town.
and misty and tom, the song and video really evoke that feeling.
i hope Memphis makes a fair and intelligent choice on whatever happens.
