Mason bees

The bees woke up this year on 20th April. They've done a wonderful job pollinating my fruit trees and plants. The blackcurrants and blueberries next to the nest boxes are absolutely laden with fruit now. There are blue and red mason bees. There will probably be a few leaf cutters later on in the year - they like snipping bits out of my roses.
The cardboard tubes have paper linings.

2011: 08th April - it's been hot.

They were a bit earlier this year, the first ones appeared on the 17th after 2-3 warm, sunny days.

My mason bees woke up on March 31 in 2009 and on March 19 in 2010. I am in southeastern Pennsylvania.
