Baltimore, MD / January 6, 2012 - The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a sex offense involving a juvenile transgendered individual that occurred on Thursday, November 17th, 2011, within the Barclay Community of North Baltimore.

Officers had responded to the area of North and Guilford Avenue for report of a sex offense, just before 3:30 a.m., and located the 16 year-old victim. Further investigation revealed that as the victim was walking within the 2300 Blk of Hunter Street, an unknown individual approached, forced him against a fence and assaulted him. The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction.

  • i think you need to sort out the pronouns on this information as people may find it misleading. if you are talking about a Male to Female trans girl, you should be using 'she'. if you're talking about a Female to Male trans guy, you should be using 'he'. the only reason i'm saying this is because i have read another article about this assault in which the victim was described as a 'transgender girl' and 'she' pronouns were used. which is correct, as it is important?

  • As stated, you are using the wrong pronouns to identify the victim. This is both disrespectful and hurtful to any transgender individual who identifies as the gender they were not assigned at birth.
