I was going nuts trying to find information about buying a viola for my daughter. I didn't want to spend $400 for an instrument but I also didn't want to wind up with a piece of crap that wouldn't stay in tune and make my kid want to give up orchestra. This is really off the cuff so it rambles a bit but I hope you find it helpful.

  • you should get the secode viola. i like this color and it sounds better

  • Man your daughter is tiny I started to play a 15.5 inch when I was in fourth grade!

  • I thought it was a nice review, although I believe the fingerboard on a Gliga is solid ebony rather than dyed rosewood. it's a much nicer viola than the Doreli I just bought.

If I still like the viola after playing with it for a year I might upgrade to a Gliga.

  • Thanks for the review. Also, I love your disappearing cat.
