generally u build them yourself from drawings and castings provided by various manufacturers, buying one ready built is a bit of a cop out.

Good. Do you build a steam engine 1st before building the locomotive? What do you use to bend the steel/metal?

@MAD2be1 . Hanks for the comment! Locomotive and steam engine is a similar tern, so one builds a locomotive or steam engine. Many modelers build the loco frame with valve gear and wheels first before building a boiler for the completed chassis.
One use many workshop tolls to create a model loco, from lathe/s, milling machines and assortment of other tools and material. Go and see you local Model Engineering or live steam club, and ask them questions in person!

Howzit Gabor,
We're really envious of you guys sitting in the sun on dusty african ground. My 15Fs have to put up with the british weather. maybe one day i'll be able to join you with my two double heading 15Fs, and we load up those carriages. I reckon they'll take 4 carriages full of passengers and make a nice bark - might have to ask you to drive one of them.
cheers
Andrew

Hi Andrew!
At the moment, even though is't almost mid summer, we too are currently under a lot of cloud, windy & rainy weather! It's almost like the UKs' gloomy weather, none-the-less still rather warm!
Thanks for your comment! Greatfully appreciated!
At the moment, I'd rather fire the full size versions, as I'm a qualified fireman and Shedman!
Regards
Gabor
