  • Can you explain the points at 0:57 and 1:38? In the first one, it looks as if Lopez has the attack because Pozdniakov took a retreat before his attack yet he was given priority. Same thing for the second one except it looked as if Pozdniakov had the attack (this one was difficult because the camera angle cut in mid point).

  • @kevinthemathgeek these days that is how it would be called, however at that time directors we very harsh with the "attack no" call in the first zone. both of those attacks were called attack misses, counterattack is good

  • i didnt no there was a fencing olympics xD

  • @thomas141500 i think it is one of the five sports that have been in every single olympics actually

  • @hotelroomsmoker a lot of people say that because they cant see that there is actually a lot of strategy involved. its obviously not traditional sword fighting so you have to think of it as a completely different sport altogether and respect that these athletes have extremely complex and interesting games that they play when they fence

  • @hotelroomsmoker wow ok: lopez got a silver and gold medal at this olympics and pozdniakov is widely regarded as the best sabre fencer ever

  • @CyrusofChaos

yeah but it's always 1 vs 1.. What about 2 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 or 10 vs 10 to elimination that would be better imo.

  • It's only one of one like boxing would be better if you could have a whole army of fencers vsing another army like what you see in lord of the rings.

  • Jack Sparrow is better than these idiotic retards

  • @CyrusofChaos thanks a bunch! I subsribed btw good videos.

  • @iYahhdo florete is foil, sable is sabre, espada is epee. hope this helps

  • @hello123459546 one question I take fencing but I am a newbie and I only know the names of the swords in spanish which is: el florete el sable y la espada. But I don't know which is which in english I was wondering if you could clear that up for me or someone else could.
