Ehh.. you seriously learned this by a book?? How long did you take studying in that book?? Because I make portraits all the time, but the books aren't really doing it for me. Just making the portraits (a lot of them) does the trick, time is what makes you learn these skills. And every time you've painted or drew a portrait you see new improvements.. You can't learn this by a book.

how long do you draw and how do you learn this?

It took about three hours. I learnt this by seeing a sketch book which had couple of portraits.
