I'm 31 years old and a former air traffic controller, I gave up my successful carrier to join college for the first time ever to expand my knowledge and potentials so I left home and came to the US. I was scared of math for that i never had it before in English, my native language is Arabic, plus it's been along time since I've been to class, almost 14 years.I came across one of your videos and it was just the answer to my prayers. Sir Patrick, please accept my honest gratitude and God bless you

Can you help me with one question? I have been having an argument with my friend over one simple question related to Probability. The question was: " A bag contains 20 balls numbered from 1 to 20. two balls are selected from the bag at the same time. what is the probability that the two numbers selected do not differ by 12?" My answer is 60%, but he says it is 40%. Can you please tell me the right answer? Thank you in advance.

Thanks. Being a Math Geek or not really doesn't matter to me. It's how one communicates the theories and concepts. You make it sound simple. Thank you.

Five items are randomly arranged. Is the probability that they'll be in any given order 1/(5!)?
