In this video blog, "Bodytype: Full-figured", Genealogy Boutique and Formals shares some tips with you on what to wear if you've got a curvy, full-figured body frame.

On Wednesday Genealogy Boutique and Formals started this mini series on fashion tips for different body types, starting with the petites. Thursday, they followed up with a few tips for the tall, thin ladies. Today's video blog is just for those of you with rockin' curves!

When choosing an outfit, don't cover yourself up in dark colors. Dark colors are great, but don't believe the myth that you should have to don them all the time! To look slimmer, wear jackets and pants in the same hue. This solid line of color all the way down the body creates a line that makes any body appear thinner. Wear a blouse underneath in a contrasting color to add a pop of drama.

When choosing clothes, think vertical. Bold buttons down the front of a jacket, a long necklace, or vertical stripes are all ways to "think vertical". Tricks like these will draw the eye up and down, rather than side to side.

One area many women make mistakes in, is size. If you wear a twenty, don't try to squeeze into an eighteen. Just because something zips, doesn't mean it fits. Wearing clothes that are too tight makes you look larger, not smaller. Heads up! When it comes to sizes, "regular" sizes fit differently than "women's" sizes. If you're a size 28 regular, you'll be more like a size 22 in women's. No matter what your size, choose clothes that fit. If you have any doubts, ask the opinion of one of our professional stylists here at Genealogy Boutique and Formals.

With the average woman in the United States being a size 14, plus size Prom dresses are hotter than ever. Designers know that we all want to have fashionable formalwear, so they have started designing dresses in sizes up to a 32 "women's". One of the most popular of these designer companies is Night Moves. They cut and design dresses in regular AND women's sizes. Look for styles with empire waistlines, full skirts, and ruched bodices to best streamline and flatter your curves!

Whether it's casual or formalwear, choose styles that show off what you love about you body. Check out Night Moves and other curvaceous styles in our stores located in Savannah, Georgia and Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina or at www.ItsInHerGenes.com!

  • Ive got a size 42 bust and 28 waist. That's a 36 DDD bra. No close fit me at all. But I might try the jacket and pant thing.

  • Does she lift weights? It looks it.

  • @IdhkmMjdki I agree. I'd take this girl home anytime. Nice tits !

  • @101luvverchick Your not fat! I'm just like you, you sound curvy by the size's you've said. I'm just a size bigger in the bust, im a 36DD - E. Your blessed to be curvy, i'd hate to be super skinny, be pleased with what you have :)

  • I'm curvy and um 5' 8. I wear size thirteen pants and a large shirt it would be medium but I'm "blessed" with size 36D bust. Am I fat? Or curvy?
