  • How big did your T. Snyderaes get? I heard they only grow to about 2 inches but i guess it's different in captivity?

  • our largest male was around 3 1/2-4in. Good nourishment, I guess. Paul Leibel was surprised also, but confirmed we had Tilapia snyderae, we got them from Tony Orso at ACA a couple years ago.

  • I'm in California.

  • I don't find it good to eat. It has a very fishy taste. By the way, where are you from? And thanks for telling me about the Tilapia thing.

  • Yeah that's completely different. Tilapia (coptodon) snyderae are found only in Lake Bermin, Cameroon. They're not mass produced by anyone. I think only a few people know about them. The tilapia you're talking about, they have them in all the asian food markets here in SoCal. They even keep them in Salton Sea. That kinda tilapia is good. lol to eat.

  • Hmm yeah. Mine are normal food tilapias. They can be found in all the canals in my country. By the way I'm from Singapore.

  • I doubt you can get tilapia snyderae for free. they're an endangered specie. you must mean oreochromis sp food tilapia.

  • Tilapias are lousy fish. I got 5. All of em I got for free.

  • i want some!!

  • nice music, fiesty fish
