The reason that Miss Cleo was sued and jailed was because she said that the call was 99 cents a minute, but when callers called, they were put on hold for 5 minutes at a time. The dead air minutes were being charged too. So customers were being charged even though no one was on the other line. I don`t know about you, but I`d be pissed if I got charged for non service minutes. The customers were PISSED and complained, hence the repercussions for Miss Cleo.

I remember when they busted Ms.Cleo for being a fake. LOL I was just a little girl but I vividly remember how they were following her around in the grocery store with a camera. They said she didn't really have a jamaican accent, too.
