Sometimes you don't need to belt out notes to get noticed....he sings this with the most tender voice and the beauty comes from gentleness of those notes......simply splendid... i got chills all over my body in the last part of that song

The piece is "Sei mir gegrüßt, du holdes Venetia" -- EINE NACHT IN VENEDIG -- Johann Strauss, Jr.

Gedda forever!

¡¡¡QUÉ DOCUMENTO ESTUPENDO!!! Descomunal...!!! Una versión aún muy superior a las de estudio con Ackermann, con Allers y con Mattes ("Bella Venezia" Lp). Un artista fuera de serie, sin herederos. Ey! Beczala: A estudiar mucho!...

Ah, that. I was familiar with that expression (also Slovenia belonged to that empire), but somehow I didn't connect it here with an award. Thank you.

".K.u.K." means "Kaiserlich und königlich" (Imperial and royal). It´s use to the so-called "Dual Monarchy" of Austria and Hungary from 1867 to 1918 (the end of WW1). The most famous composer of this era was J. Strauss II. Mike.

By the way - what exactly is this k.u.k.?
Do you perhaps know in what occasion was this video made?
