Addressing MPs at the Council of Europe, Ukraine's Prime Minister urged European law makers to recognize the famine of 1932-1933 as an act of genocide against the Ukrainian people. But what really happened to food supplies in the USSR between 1932 and 1933? To answer this question, we're joined in the studio by the historian Andrey Marchukov.

Who's to blame? Fucking communists are to blame! Let's not mince words or over-analyze this. Here are two basic facts:

1) If left alone, PEOPLE WILL FEED THEMSELVES. They will do it by planting crops, hunting animals, raising chickens, pigs, cows, etc.

2) With the exception of a long term drought, mass starvation ONLY occurs when a CENTRALIZED AUTHORITY (ie government, army, gang) PREVENTS others from growing food or forces them to redistribute the food they produce.

Period. End of story.

For the russians it took almost 70 years to admitt and apologise for the Katyn massacre. In this mass murder over 20.000 thousand Polish MIlitary and Public officials were executed. If after 70 years russians admitted 25.000 victims of the Katyn, 10.000.000 victimes of holodomor genocide will never be admitted. Its just the nature of russians to not take blame and responsibilities for their horrific crime. I feel deep sympathy for Ukrainians but counting on that Russians will admitt is sensless
