  • This exact car is available as a 1:18 diecast from Yatming's Signature series...it's even the same color!...Bill H.

  • Hi Bill, I'm aware of the diecast version. They really did an excellent job of recreating the '62 Starfire in miniature.

  • B"H

What a machine!! I always loved the GM "convertible roof" 2 door hardtops, and the Olds is one of the best!! I assume it's got the Rocket V8 and Hydra-Matic...I bet it's a blast to drive, when you plant that right foot into the Rocket engine!!

I've got a '69 Corvair Monza sport coupe as my daily driver (it's the blue one on YouTube)...there's nothing like a vintage car to get maximum "smiles to the gallon!" Awesome Oldsmobile...enjoy!!!

  • The '62 Starfire was equipped with a 394ci/345hp engine as standard equipment. A true muscle car for '62. The compression ration is 10.5 to 1.

My Starfire is a daily driver like your Corvair Monza. Like many classic car enthusiasts I much prefer this to any new car on the market. I'm glad to hear you drive and enjoy your Corvair every day.

  • Nice Oldsmobile, man.

The first time I've seen those rear light clusters. Are they custom or standard fit?

I'm accustomed to the '64 model year clusters.

  • The four tail light grouping was standard equipment on the Starfire and 98 Oldsmobiles in '62. I think they're kinda cool myself. Thank you.

  • Beautiful looking car. Oldsmobile made the best looking cars in 1962 and 1964.

  • ...very nice...

  • Is that color "Garnet" ? My Grandad had a 61 Dynamic 88 2 door in Garnet with red interior. It was probably considered pretty racey for a small town Dr. back in the early 60's. The memory of that car really stuck with me. Very nice car

  • I remember someone in my neighborhood had one when I was a kid. I always thought those were cool tailights.

  • I wa born in '64 and I remember seeing these cars around in 1970. I used to call them Beech-Nut cars because the oval taillights reminded me of the Beech-Nut Gum logo. Hey, I was 6 at the time.

  • @kennday 2ND-YOU'RE THE FIRST SACK

  • my folks bought a new starfire in 62. it was white with red enterior. only got to drive it a little as i was 16 in 65, and they traded for a new 98 in jan 66. was an awesome car then and still is. 1st car i ever saw that wasnt a sports car that had a factory tach, even if it was in an unhandy place on the console. ur car ROCKS

  • nice car! road salt literally eats cars alive in canada

  • my car is blue and i put over 800,000 miles on it,i got it brand new,it still gets 16 miles per gallion.

  • that car worth some money i had one that needed a major resto and sold it for $3000 due to complete not much rust and it ran but needed brakes and some body parts and glass and total interior redo
