9/1 Protests at the RNC. The atmosphere in St. Paul is best described as a war zone. This video attempts to show some of why people are protesting. Reporters from the AP, NY Post, Indy Media Center, Pepper Spray Productions and 3 producers from Democracy Now have been arrested, including Amy Goodman.

This afternoon the bus was repeatedly harassed by St. Paul police. We were notified by our lawyers who were on the scene while we were attempting to cover the Poor People's March. Eyewitnesses reported that they attempted to open the door both by hand and CROW BAR. They attempted to film inside the bus and claimed they were concerned about "liquids". Our bus is legally parked in a paid lot with permission from the Parking lot. 2 private buses have been confiscated in St. Paul 1 bus carrying a marching band of activists have chosen to leave town. The police came by 3 times each time with more squad cars and equipment. At this time the bus, inhabitants and property are safe... and insecure. Much more about this later.

  • 803brando: UH, it seem you never noticed, but we are NOT a Democracy. Your ignorance dilutes your validity. The war with Iraq was legal. Maybe NOT what many wanted, but it was NOT illegal according to our Constitution. Go back and get educated.

  • Seriously? Have you read the constitution? First of all, the president has the constitution allows the president to declare war for 90 days before he needs congressional approval.

Although all that is irrelevant considering he DID get congressional approval for the war!

Actually, much of the dumb shit done at protests is incited by police themselves. They've been caught, numerous times, dressed as "Anarchists" trying to incite violence.

Which begs the question, if officers of the law are there to protect the peace, why are they sneakily inciting violence?

  • Iraq = police action, War has not been declared since WWII.

  • Has anyone ever noticed that the cops only show up to protests that are run by liberals because whenever they're left unattended they end up doing stupid shit like setting the vehicles of private citizen's on fire to protest "the man"? I mean, look at the radical tea party riots... oh wait... there is nothing radical about them. LOL. Just a bunch of old people protesting taxes. Now where you get into trouble is dumb young people... mainly liberal in nature... but not necessarily.... just dumb.

  • Hmmm Jew's, spooks, non-shaved lezbo's, limp wristed white liberal bitchboys with dreads wearing sandles, all gathered in one spot?? Yeah must be the clueless MTV brainwashed sheep of this country. Now wheres a hijacked plane when you need it? Would make a nice dent in the removal of these parasites. Plus it would give 1000's more another conspiracy theory. But this one would be TRUE!!

  • The fact is the UN security counsel did not approve the war they said to give more time, and the US did not. About my links these are proof that the war is illegal they are not bias they are US law, so unless you can prove with evidence; well lets just say give me evidence which you havent given me any.

  • There was no proof that Iraq had WMDs, and anyways according to the UN charter you cant attack on the premise that he has WMDs you need an attack and again we where not attacked. You again, have come to the idea that the UN had authorized military force if Iraq failed to comply, but again you have no self defense.

  • The threat of WMDs was justification of self defense. Numerous UN resolutions authorized military force if Iraq failed to comply. The peace agreement between the US and Iraq required them to comply. They didn't. I am against the war, and always have been. However, it was not, in any way, illegal. Your links only provided a bias look at some parts of the issue, and not the whole truth.

  • So yes this war is illegal. If you dont believe me Ill send you two links, but you can also use your fingers and Google it too its all there for you to see.

  • The United States was one of the first to sign this charter on June 26, 1945. In this charter it states about war that it forbids the use of force by any nation except in two circumstances those are # 1, a country can defend itself if it is attacked by another country, and #2, a country can legally use force by getting authorization by the UN security counsel. #1 we were not attacked and #2 we did not get authorization by the security counsel.

  • Um yes there in a law that says that we need the UN approval to go to war. In article 6 of the US constitution it states that any treaty signed by the United States becomes part of the supreme law of the land. If you dont know how the UN was formed I will tell you. It was formed when nations signed the UN Charter after WWII. The United Nations Charter is the treaty that forms and establishes the international organization called the United Nations.
