Hyde & Sikh

This film was made for the 2004 64 Hour Film Shootout, in association with the Asian-American International Film Festival. Basically at 8pm on a Friday night, every team gets the same topic and you have 64 hours to write, produce, shoot and edit a film that has to clock in at under 6.4 minutes. It was the first time I had ever entered a contest such as this, but it was pretty fun. The topic given was "Hide and Seek" but it was spoken, never written, so as you can tell from the title of our film, we sort of went in a different direction. However, it ended up working rather well since we took second place in the competition. Everyone was impressed that we managed to tell a complete and funny story in under seven minutes.

In it, Hyde is in love with a Sikh girl, but she can't marry outside her religion. So Hyde has to come up with a way to win her over. He finds a potion and...

Trust me, I know the difference between a Sikh and Punjabi, as I am Punjabi but not a Sikh. This film was made simply for a competition and isn't meant to be any kind of serious discussion on Sikhs and Sikh marriages. Lighten up!

Actually sikhs are part of the indian race that will always be a fact, it not the capital of indian but is located north of India. And yes Sikhs should be proud of their accents, and clothes they wear. Sikhs only marry outside of their religon due to being free which I agree with but they often forget, rascial barriers can and will creep in eventually, whether they believe it or not. Especiall;y if they have mixed race half white and half punjabi blooded kids.
