Women who have undergone mastectomies have limited options for prosthetics. Cheap, lumpy foam, or expensive, heavy silicone have been the only options available.
Now a new trend in the knitting/crocheting world has created a different option, knitted boobies.
At a Lakewood yarn shop, women have been gathering after work to knit the one of a kind prosthetics, each made to order, with custom colors and artistic touches. Women say the hand-made prosthetics are more breathable and comfortable, especially when it is up against scar tissue.

I was searching for videos that deal with breast augmentation following mastectomies for a power point presentation for school when I came across this. This is absolutely beautiful. Thank God for people that do this in support of those who are going through the horrors of breast cancer.
