Commercial software for material flow simulations has the ability to layout simulated models. Equipment such as shelves and machines, demands for the determination of motion paths for moving objects such as forklifts or automated guided vehicles. The user has to define paths for the simulation program to navigate all vehicles across the motion paths. After analyzing the simulation,, the user carries out changes in the simuation models layout, e.g., moving, adding or deleting equipment. However, changes in the layout cause the user time consuming changes in the motion paths Our motion planning algorithm reduces these changes by automatically determining the motion paths for moving objects, depending on the new model layout without colliding with other objects. The algorithms work on the basis of the virtual scenes 3D-data used for the simulation models visualization. We demonstrate this technique with an example of a multi-story building.
