All Right Now - Free.

I thought this was going to be fairly straightforward.
But that solo, whilst sounding simple, takes more skill than Ive got to get it sounding just right. I am still a beginner at playing lead guitar so I guess I shouldn't expect too much too soon!
I can also take a little comfort in the fact that I havent heard any other version on any live recording etc. where Paul Kossoff himself manages to play it just this way so maybe he had trouble repeating the feat! Or maybe it was just his medication! lol :-D

Dedicated with love to my wife who made a request of this one. xx

Many thanks to Tonedr for the tutorial and encouragement.

This was recorded 26 June 2009 about 6 months after starting to learn lead / electric guitar using the lessons from Justin Sandercoe (thanks!) on his amazing website justinguitar.com - http://www.justinguitar.com.

Equipment: Yamaha SG400, Vox DA5, recorded on Sony Digital 8 Handycam.

  • Great song! Made history! Man great cover, just work on the tone! A bit less distorsion mby. check my cover out /watch?v=Mb-IMR5NsCE

    Cheers!

  • @Shad0wBalrog Thanks, I agree about the tone now I listen back to it some time later ... got a different amp now too

  • @MrClose2u Also an advice while playing lead - (although i don't know exactly how your guitar is set up) use the neck pickup; it has a bit softer and smoother tone ;) (since you said you are a beginner at playing lead)

And i guess this comment might prove useless since this video was posted 2 years ago xD

  • @Shad0wBalrog Hi, thanks, I appreciate you taking the time to pass on advice and encouragement. I have some more recent vids and hope I have improved some in the time since. I don't get to practice as much as I would like though. Cheers

    :-)

  • hey buddy seems cool .. about the amp wasnt that the amp jimi hendrex USED to use im not sure but im think i heard it some where (ready to be shot down). (00)

  • @MeatballZ1000 Thanks for watching and commenting.

    btw

Hendrix used 100watt Marshall valve amp and huge speaker stacks with 4x12" speakers with volume turned up to MAX. This was played through a 5 watt solid state combo with a 6.5" speaker at about half.
