Aarakshan Movie Information:
Aarakshan release Date 12 August 2011

Aarakshan is a high voltage drama based on one of the most controversial policies of caste based reservations in government jobs and educational institutions.

Aarakshan Story and Plot Outline:

Aarakshan is the story of Prabhakar Anand (Amitabh Bachchan), the legendary idealistic principal of a college that he has single-handedly turned into the state's best. It is the story of his loyal disciple, Deepak Kumar (Saif Ali Khan) who will do anything for his Sir. Of Deepak's love for Prabhakar's daughter, Poorbi (Deepika Padukone), of his friendship with Sushant (Prateik). It is the story of their love, their lively friendship, their zest for life, and of their dreams for the future.

Centered on one of the most controversial issues of recent years, with the Supreme Court's order on reservations, the story suddenly becomes a rollercoaster ride of high drama, conflict, and rebellion, which tests their love and friendship for one another, and their loyalty to Prabhakar Anand.

  • Finally somebody had the guts to make a film on a burning issue.

Keeping shut will not solve the issue. The more its discussed & known by people from both sides. People will understand both sides. Then there can be hope of some solution.

  • will it be released with English Subtitles?

  • Genetically there is no differences in the people of India as it is a mixture of central Asians, Dravidian, negroid and Mongoloid streams of evolutionary populations who became the people of Indus valley. Later got mixed to some extent with Anglosaxon and Persian populations. Now who is genetically different. If a brahmin and dalit genes are tested for markers there is no difference. Even skin color is controlled by 50 genes. So what is reservation? Greed by some people. Become human & Indian

  • shitt system in india...reservation.....

  • i know y aarakshan is banned. these sc sts wants reservation in the movie tickets too.... they have a habit of getting everything for free while we work hard

  • What needed is time bound result oriented social investment, not stupid reservation system where no one except a few who pass through the reserved seats get benefited making the very system less competant and more vulnerable.

  • yeah...aarakshan should be given to need base people rather to caste base......

  • it will be a super hit. Release in all Languages

  • Hnn, why waste time bickering with anyone. Make your way through hard work, those who survive the jungle come out better. Who really cares about Aarakshan, if it bothers you just pack your bags to another country where your brains are better appreciated. If the flag doesn't appreciate you, better change it.

You can give seats to monkeys, cats or dogs doesn't really matter, the leftover seats become more precious.

  • @ramyaty Marriage is not a part of casteism. It is a part of our culture and tradition. Whatever you have as your last name, just feel proud about it. Don't take yourself as a lower man. It doesn;t matter what last name you carry, just make sure you are hard and smart worker. If you wanna change your old age image, then do it with your hard work not by reservation buddy...
