I watched Carry On Camping on Christmas Day. It was the best thing on television all day and I think it was the best Carry On film of all.

"It's not as if she'd got a ring on her finger yer know" "She hasn't got one through her nose either!" They don't make them like this anymore. Got this one on DVD. Another great line is where Charles Hawtrey stops the young lady walking a cow down a country lane. "What's a nice girl like you doing with an old cow?" "I'm taking her to the bull" "To the bull...ooohh, couldn't your father do that?" "No it has to be the bull!" Classic. Nothing as British as a Carry On film.

Its the clash between post war society and the counter culture moment of the 1960s, miniskirts, make love not war... then the 1980s happened... aids, recession, live aid, yuppies with a technological revolution... and political correctness, these films taught me to enjoy life and not to deny it's simple pleasures, but time... the subtle thief of youth has made me impotent... bugger, back then as teen, these movies made me appreciate woman, a hymn of praise to the female form.
