Jason (my brother-in-law) lands a 42" Northern Pike on light tackle and no steel leader. We didn't have a net so Rudy (our guide) picks him up out of the water bare-handed. It's an amazing catch and release. www.tinkersplaces.com . I think he was using a treble hook and minnow with 8 lb. test line.

  • nice grab! i rarely if ever bring a net(i'm superstitious and figure it's bad luck)i live in northern Canada and pike and walleye are the predominant fish,if you tire them out good enough ,maneuver them close to the boat or shore and "calmly"seize them behind the gill plate,it seems to almost paralyse them and you can retrieve most fish(despite the size!)

  • nice fish guys!

  • @PolishGuy1000 im going to guess lake of the woods but ont take my word on it

  • the same thing happend to me the first time i went to Canada. i had no leader and i had a small 3 inch twister tail bait on. it was my first time up there and im 14 same sized fish too
