This is the new Marmott 15. It is a 900 loft fill down sleeping bag at one pound six ounces. It just won the backpacker choice of 2011 award. quote, "IN THE QUEST FOR MAXIMUN WARMTH AT A MINIMUM WEIGHT, WE HAVE A NEW STANDARD SETTER" This bag goes for $469 plus tax and sh/h. I found mine for $375.20 out the door! No tax, no sh/h and totaly agree with the quote. I ordered it on line at a site called backcountrygear.com they specialize in ultra lite tarps, shelters and top notch gear. Great service and got it inside a week after punching the submit order key. great bag, great site and great service. You can read all the specs and or write ups on this bag at the backpacker gear reviews on line, through the magazines site. This is a cold weather bag, anything above 30 degrees and you will be a bit too warm. they also make it in a 30 degree and at a few ounces liter.

  • this bag is sick

  • @lipuid53 it's rated to 15 and right at about 15 to 20, you start to feel the cold. but used with a cacoon liner. its good to below 15 easy and the liner i have, a coolmax, makes for the most comfortable sleap you ever had!

  • Sorry, but not 1 pound 6 ounces. Their atom (40 degree) weighs more than that.

  • @freewill51 oh, it's ok, no need to "be sorry". I just checked the rei web site. it weighs in at 1 lbs. 14 oz. I missed by a whole 8 back breaking ounces!

  • That's a nice bag!! I have the 15, but would love to get the 30 for warmer trips. What size Integral D. tarp were you using???

  • @mhpatriot its the 8 x 10, just two 5 x 5's with a center stitch. got a great deal on it at the same site i give for the bag

  • good deal with the price I had to pay full for mine

  • @patje0109 yes, i bet you could use it where you are. ill be taking it to Russia next time I go. It gets cold over there! last time I went I had a 20 degree northface and a liner and an emergency blanket but shivered all night!

  • @Cragdwella thanks for watching. so far, it's an incredible bag! so thin, if held to the light, you can see light through it but definatly a cold night bag. a bit toasty for anything over 30 degrees, "in my opinion" I have a north face cats meow 20 and at 30, i need a liner.

  • Nice review, nice bag !
