When Saints Go Machine's debut worldwide release Konkylie has been garnering praise from everyone from NPR to Stereogum, with many touching on the fact that the album has a very personal and meticulous feel to it, rewarding patient listens with intricately constructed songs. The making-of video below perhaps sheds some light on why the album provokes this reaction; it was recorded over two years, mostly in the remote summer home of singer Nikolaj Vonsild, giving the band the time to experiment with a variety of techniques and approaches in a safe and comfortable environment. The footage of long-range vocal recording and found-item percussion set is particularly fun to watch.
