MTH Premier Norfolk & Western Class A (2-6-6-4) Steam Locomotive and auxiliary tender in action. This was a PS1 locomotive that I converted to PS2. One of the great benefits of PS2 is that you can use DCS to change the sound set. This locomotive now has an updated sound set with a greatly improved whistle (you can compare it to the older Class A video). Please visit my web site - http://www.toytrains1.com - to see lots more videos of model (and real) trains in action! A NEW VIDEO OF THE CLASS-A HAS BEEN SHOT IN TRUE HD 1080p! • HO is "half O" or 1:96. O-Gauge is 1:48.

  • The main layout is 24' long by 12' wide. The ready yard protrudes another four feet off one side.

  • was the train really that long or was the Class A following another train? I have the new Class A.

  • The train was really that long! :)

  • I have DCS and how do you change the sound set.

  • You download a new sound set (free) from the MTH web site. You then use the DCS loader program that you also download from the MTH web site (also free), follow the instructions, and change the sound set. Make sure you use a sound set that's compatible with the locomotive!

  • I love the N&W whistles

  • A beauty indeed!!! Can you please tell me how large is O gauge in comparison to the HO scale?

  • Nice MTH 1218. That's happen to me before, where the tail of the train is right up to the locomotive.

  • I am glad you got the correct sound set. I am going to have my A upgraded to PS2, I hope they know how to get the correct sound set/

  • How big is your layout?

  • Great model and a great locomotive. I road a train in 1988 pulled by 1218 class "A". Unforgetable. 21 Pullman cars long, at time we reached accourding to the conductor 90 mph. It would take 4 F units to do that.

  • that's sick man!
