This is the story of how I started run for her, a 5k run/walk for ovarian cancer research and awareness. I created a marketing and operations plan for a 5k run/walk as my Master's thesis then partnered up with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to produce the event. In just 5 years, run for her has raised nearly $3 million for the Cedars-Sinai Women's Cancer Research Institute.
run for her is extra special to me because I created it in honor of my Mom who lost her 8 year battle to ovarian cancer 2 years ago. She was just the most amazing, kind, strong, and funny person. She was an angel and a true hero.
She always said run for her is not about her...it is about all women.
For my Mom and all those effected, we will continue to run for her in an effort to not only find a cure but find a reliable test to detect this terrible disease. Thank you SU2C for allowing all of us this opportunity to stand up 2 cancer!
