A Scientific Perspective On Race

Dr. Sergio Pena is known for his extensive work in neuromuscular research, and is world-renowned for his work in genetics at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, in Brazil. His research involves looking at human genetic diversity throughout the world. And he is one of many experts who claim that race is not a scientific truth.

But he also goes one step further. Dr. Pena wants to replace the old idea of race with a new way of thinking about humankind. What he proposes is a model that is based on his scientific research, and that coincidently undermines racism, xenophobia, and ethnic hate.
