Family trip to Armenia, August 2009.
Return From Karabakh

Armenia is very rich with ancient caves. There are even caves of hydrothermal origin, which are very rare in the world. These hollows originate when lava from the inner core of the earth mixes with hot springs, creating caves.

Ancient caves were used as dwellings in Armenia until the 1960s. Today, in the villages of Tegh and Khndzoresk in the Syunik marz, caves are used as cellars and cow-sheds.

  • the border between armenia and Nagorno Karabah has a check point, with a few guards, to whom we presented our visas, which we had gotten in Yerevan. i

believe that Nagorno Karabah, or ARTSAKH has a neutral status.
