Lamentations of Jeremiah I:
Latin:
Incipit lamentatio Jeremiae prophetae:
ALEPH. Quomodo sedet sola civitas plena populo: facta est quasi vidua domina gentium, princeps provinciarum facta est sub tributo.
BETH.
Translation:
Here beginneth the lamenation of Jeremiah the Prophet:
I. How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people! How she become as a widow!
She that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary!
II. She weepeth sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks; among all her lovers she hath none to comfort her: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies.
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, return unto the Lord thy God.

@acerb45666555 I expect that God is pointing out to Jeremiah the sins of the people, the way He does if you've ever read the books of Jeremiah and Lamentations...after all, the text of the music is straight Bible - fabulous!
And no, Ramatganski, the whole thing is definately NOT a joke! God is mighty serious and will judge sin like any good judge must, but if you turn to the Lord Jesus in repentance, He will forgive you of all your wrongdoings and grant you eternal life rather than eternal death

@acerb45666555 Interesting, but no, actually it seems that he is DIScouraging him from doing that. Doesn't change the fact that it's all a big joke though.

thats odd. in the image it seems the floating Christian god is encouraging the seated figure to pay homage to Mithras! thats who the two girls are offering incense too!
