My dog is a chow and his name is Khan, in chinese Khan means "King" because we spoil him and he acts like a king (all the good qualities of a king, he's not mean at all) It's weird because I am not chinese I am mexican american but we wanted to give him a really cool name :) But even though he is spoiled, he behaves really good and is an inside dog!

I've had 3.. . TUG, was the latest and the greatest. Died at 5yrs old from heart-worms..PLEASE, everyone......... don't neglect your heart-worm treatments like I did. You don't have to get burned to learn..... . . . The admonition here to 'Go and learn' is wise advice. Thanks for posting this for us Chow lovers.

the chows i here are big arent there 2 size of chow chows? are they good dogs that are not agrresive?

If these people cared so much about them they'd offer the information free. Everything they tell you can be found online or by talking to breeders for free.

The mistake that people who get Chows make is, when they get a Chow, they think they are getting a dog. Chow's don't act like dogs. They act like a bear mixed with a cat. I wouldn't ever want to ever get another breed. Having a Chow is almost like having another person in the house.

This is true. The zoologist Desmond Morris had Chows and he said he believed they are a separate breed of animal. They have a different skin chemistry and a different number of teeth from dogs. And, obviously, dogs don't have blue-black tongues.
