On 1st April 2010 a coalition of free speech activists took to the streets of Sydney's CBD to protest the impending "Mandatory" ISP Filter which has been likened to repressive censorship regimes in China, Iran and North Korea.

Truth News Radio Australia was there to track the progess and report on the gagged protesters as they wound their way through Sydney's busy streets during rush hour.

The protest was also reported by itnews.com.au:

  • @freegrayn Good point, most people don't wish to awaken from their daze, events such as April 1 help them to switch off and to protect their self imposed false reality. They will only leave Kansas being dragged by the ankles licking and screaming.

  • This video shows how most people walk around in a FUCKING DAZE,they've built their little protective bubble and think that by ignoring the threats against their freedom that these threats will just go away. Of course they will eventually realise what their inaction has created but it will be too late. It's difficult to speak out with a steel soled jack boot crushing down on your neck as your face is being ground into the concrete. No one can hear you when you're locked in a cattle truck TOO LATE

  • wo0o0ohh... go TNRA!!! (Y)

  • @IndrasBlade77 I agree! I'm sure that was exactly what the people in China, Iran, North Korea and New Zealand thought also. "Oh yah, the government is doing it 4dlulz..." Utter complete rhetoric hey...

  • think about what "war" means. At such a future time, deemed by our government that we are at "war", then any prior promises made about internet censorship can be superseded by special war-time legislation. But first, the hardware must be in place. Be alarmed.

  • admire you guys! lets think outside the loop. Lets assume there are inevatible resource wars that Western powers have in the planning stage, for economic survival. Think Iran. Now, in a war time scenario, in which our side is the agressor (as in Iraq and Afghanistan) our government will have the perfect internet filter to prevent us seeing and knowing any alternative reality to the one being propagated by our government WMD public perception mamagers. Scary. 2010=1984

  • you know i just shake my head at the apathy i see these days

i admire the truth guys who spend their time to try to bring the zombies issues that need to be addressed

  • Good activist work there. I am wondering though, given the date it was held, whether it was perceived as an April Fool's Day joke by some? The choice of date may not have been advisable for such a serious issue. Why was this date chosen anyway?

  • Good one!
