This video demonstrates how to install the first row of your Fausfloor® laminate floor. For more information about this video or Fausfloor® products visit www.fausfloor.com.
Note: Demonstration was done on a concrete sub-floor and therefore requires a 6-mil plastic sheet vapor barrier.
You mean the shim pieces that are against the wall just as spacers? Of course you take them out. They just give the floor room to float. After the floor is down, you buy baseboards to go around the room, then quarter round trim to the baseboards at the floor level. When you go to the home store, find your trim moldings and ask if you get confused. It's easy. Take care.
The trick is...use a scrap piece of your laminate, chop saw it into small strips and cut those strips in thirds, you'll have as many as you'll need for your instalation, it's free and it's right at 1/4 inch in width.
