A historic moment! Two A4's together on Tyneside for the first time in decades. Certainly the first time I've seen two of these magnificent beasts side by side.
Bittern is in garter blue newly renamed as 4492 'Dominion of New Zealand' complete with 1930's chrome trimmed valances.
This shot starts just as Bittern has arrived and pulled alongside Sir Nigel. Then 60007 couples up and rolls off with the train leaving 4492 behind.

  • That's a fantastic moment you have captured there. I seen 'Bittern' storm through Durham a few minutes earlier and it was a great sight, although I've no video.
