Mixing your own bleach - ultra platinum

I've used this mix over many colors to achieve a near-white awesome platinum. :]
bleaching eyebrows is technically not reccomended because if you get it in your eye you will prob go blind, also, rinse bleach off eyebrows early... after 10 minutes and reapply if necessary.
Putting a plastic bag over your head keeps the moisture and heat in which makes the bleach more active and therefore more successful.

Coming from someone who has also used 40 volume developer, I wouldn't recommend it. The only reason I use it is because I have naturally jet black hair that is not only super resistant, but also very thick and strong. Most people can achieve the same result with 30 volume and a toner which is much less damaging. Also, just so you know, there is facial bleach specifically for hair on the face if you want to bleach your eyebrows with less of a risk of going blind.

@iFauxPas If you keep your hair short like me the damage isn't that big of an issue, I also like that it gets the job done %100 of time: go big or go home. Don't facial bleaches only lighten like a couple shades? I want drastic eyebrow lightening.

But I have gotten many a concerned look from hair stylists who would never use 40 volume on themselves. :]

My hair is short too. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have tried 40 in the first place. I'd be more worried about the condition of your scalp though. Hair grows back, but putting harsh chemicals on your skin overtime can very much result in hair loss. As for facial bleaches, I've never tried to go platinum, but it lightened my black hair at least a good 5 levels before I stopped. Everyone's hair is different though.

Discussing this really makes me want to be blonde again...

This is why you should go to a professional colour Tech. As low as 40 vol (6%) can cause permanent damage to the scalp. It will burn you and leave your hair yellow. The yellow is from the Sulfur Burn, not because your hair has not lightened enough.

Well, I know that I certainly had more fun as a blonde but I had to darken my hair for a musical that I was in this summer. The only reason I haven't re-bleached it yet is because I don't have the money at the moment (the result of not working this summer). That will hopefully change soon though.
