This song reminds me of Lesley Gore's "Judy's Turn To Cry" and Peggy March's "I Wish I Were A Princess." It has the slick sound of many hits of 1963. This "Barbara" song and Connie's other unreleased song "Whatever Happened To Rosemarie?" (also found on the CD/or cassette: ROCKSIDES 1957-1964) should have been released instead of her other released hits from 1963: "Your Other Love" and "If My Pillow Could Talk" which did fair/okay on the POP MUSIC charts. We love you, Connie!

At the time of this session tw o songs were being recorded, the first being this song and the second song whatever happened to rosemarie, MGM DECIDED that they prefered the second song and decided to shelf this song

In answer to your question this song was never released on reocrd, it was recorded at the same time as her song whatever happened to rosemarie, MGM decided that they prefered this song to this one, so they shelved this song and released the other, there is a compilation box set by the bear family records, called kissin, twistin going where the boys are which has all her unreleased material including this one

Neil Sedaka wrote this and even recorded a demo version of this song. Needless to say, it sounds so much more appropriate coming from Connie's mouth than from Neil's!
