  • @magmalin Shortening is basically fake lard. It's made from hydrogenated vegetable oil. The most well-known brand is Crisco. The nuts and figs were chopped up in a food processor. It is basically blender like machine that chops food. Google "cuisinart food processor" and you should get a picture of a pretty common one.

  • so is that what figgy pudding is. I only know of it through the Christmas song.

  • @expervillage Could you go on my profile and send me a message so I could get that all settled up?

  • PRETTY COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It looks nice and very unusual! But I didn't understand some parts. What's shortening? It looks like some kind of more fat to me. If so, do you really need it with all that butter used? And I didn't understand what kind of machine was used for the walnuts and the figs.

  • Last year when I made my Christmas Pudding, I made an animation of it. Traditionally a pudding is made the year before you eat it to allow all the flavours to mature. The whole meaning of the Pudding is also lost if it's made by machine, part of it is to spread good luck for the coming year and everyone in the house should stir the pudding and make a wish. It is a steamed pudding too! I'm sure your pudding is good but this is nothing to do with a Traditional English Christmas Pudding.

  • why am i watching this in the middle of summer?

  • Wow, a whole video from expert village... Usually, they chop it up into four or five parts.

  • Cuisinart is a company, they make many things, it's bugging me, I just want him to say food processor, haha.
