Interesting how Japan has more electric railroads than the US! Guess they're trying to "go green." With the influx of autos in the past couple decades they need something that won't pollute. In the US the only electric railroad I'm familiar with is the Amtrak Northeast Corridor! Of course, not counting the US cities that still run electric streetcars. My city has light rail but that's it.
