The first exercise is a very simple one. You set out a number of hurdles [the height dependent on age and experience of jumper]. The jumper drives two-footed over the hurdles attempting to go for maximal height and limiting flexion at the knee on landing and DRIVING back up immediately on landing. Always maintain an upright uper torso.
You could do 6 sets over 6 hurdles with 1 minutes recovery between each repetition.

The second exercise is a combination of hops and bounds with a vertical jump at the end. A demanding drill which has a high skill factor. Here the jumper is doing two hops/1 bound/2 hops and concluding with a dynamic jump for maximal height. Not for the inexperienced jumper.
You could do a set of 4 with 1 minutes recovery between each repetition.

  • Hi Paul,

    Ran out of characters....

Will take a look at your clips. Yes, hope to see you this Winter.

All the very best, have a great winter, Nigel

  • Hi Paul,

The athlete doing the demos for me is Gareth Wiltshire. Gareth used to work at UWIC and is an 800/1500mt runner. He's an athlete who is exceptionally talented and could possibly be very good at many different event groups. I film often and my group like to see themselves 'in action'...

I use my own jumpers in films so that viewers can see the good and the bad within a movement pattern. I explain in the 'more' section what strategies I intend to follow to develop the skill...Nigel
