  • @copingwiththetimes What a crappy topic, lol. One that a lot of folks overlook for sure. I will try to find my pdf file on field sanitation for you too. Lots of very good info in that for a grid down situation.

  • @minbound LOL crappy indeed! That would be great if you could find that PDF. There aren't as many sources for info on this out there as I thought there would be.

  • Great video! Just wondering.. would it be cheaper to buy the Enzymes in the box in town that is made for septic tanks? I don't know how much the little packs cost so that's why I am asking. I know the box of RidX in town is about 7 to 8 bucks. TJ

  • @MyDaddysgirl44 The packs are around .50 I think. They contain the 4 enzymes needed to break down paper, proteins, starches and fat. RidX only lists Amylase and Cellulase on their site for ingredients. I imagine they have something similar to do the jobs of the other 2 but I'm not 100% sure. You would definitely get more for your money I imagine and I would think that it would be just as safe and effective to use.

  • Check out enzyme packs and liquids for RV use.Usually work very quickly(faster than Ridex or similar home septic brands) for waste break down and deodorizing and if you shop around you can find them cheap.Ususally made for a 40 gallon tank, but get a liquid and divide the recommended "dose" for a 5 gallon bucket scenario.Any water source can be used to fill your toilet tank.I live on a lake, wouldn't drink the water without purification, but fetching 5gal to keep the toilet flushing is no problem.

  • This is fake. When the bowl fills up, swithch to the upper deck. Why spend money on this stuff? people have pooped out doors for thousands of years, hang over a log and then bury it. Phoney baloney

  • what about buying a box of ridex?

  • Don't forget the old fashioned way that people used regular chairs with a cut-out hidden under a cushion and below the bucket. You can still see these sold on Ebay or at country auctions. There are a few websites out there which address "humanure" and the composting/recycling of human waste.

  • OK. A topic that I know well! W live in Ky. We have no toilet. Save yourself some $ and get a 5 gallon bucket from the paint dept in Walmart. Lid and bucket will be about $5. Save your $ on the enzymes. I use cedar chips Does fine. Dig yourself a hole for disposal.Take care where the run off goes.Throw organic material on it as it fills to keep down the smell. All the rest is money making WHOO HA! Nice Vid, but now you know that you don't have to spend $ on taking a crap.Be well.

  • Good stuff man im not sure if the card board box would hold me up lol j/k thanks for the review God Bless

  • good idea but where do throw your poop sack away at lol?

  • Good review. I have this kit loaded with all the essentials. Anthony.

  • @CopingWithTheTimes As a life long septic tank pooper I would save my money on them little enzyme packets and just get some packets of dry yeast. Does the same thing and might be alott cheaper. Just thinkin out load here.

  • ah the thrown of a king
