HIDA TAKAYAMA 飛騨 高山

Hida Takayama, otherwise known as the little Kyoto in the mountains. I love this town。It is very nice and quiet and best of all, there are no chain restaurants/shops here. No Starbucks, no McDonalds, no 7/11 ..nothing.　But it has small Japanese town charm and some very uniqueness about it.

I found out about this town by a chance and I'm gonna be bumming around Japan for almost a month this summer. I HAVE to go see this town and stay at a Ryokan here, it looks magical.

Beautiful place ! I went there in 2005 and I'm going again in 2011. The miso from here is wonderful too.
