The more I listen to "BoA" the more I like some songs (NOT Eat You Up & Energetic) I agree she has to evolve to attract new fans. In Asia, she changed quite a bit over the years. However, this thread is almost all old fans. I am a huge BoA fan. I want to her succeed in the US very badly. I'm just afraid this album won't do it. It's too much like all the mainstream already in the US. Evolving is one thing, sounding like everyone else is another.

oh and ALL the songs on BoA are danceable... and that's coming from a dancer ^__^

I'm a BoA fan so I'm glad to hear others are enjoying the new album. As for dancing, the professional dancers on stage (and in the video) can clearly dance to "Eat You Up". But I'm not so sure the average clubgoer (or even worse dancers, like me) will find the beat easy to dance to.

Well no duh her music is going to be different for her US release because the mainstream music here is totally different than mainstream music in Asia. And she wants to attract new fans. I think BoA is a FANTASTIC ALBUM. And no, that's not how I heard of her... I've been an avid fan of BoA for about 6 years and enjoy ALL the music she does. Times change and so does music. She can't keep doing the same year in and year out, she has to try new things.

The start is horrible I agree, because Eat You Up is a horrible song, but she CAN sing live. The later songs are better, but not her best, she may be tired. Search "BoA the Live" to see plenty of songs where she sings very well live.

She's not doing well because she abandoned her songwriters for "hot" western producers and the songs on the "BoA" album are horrible. Her previous songwriters knew how to take advantage of her voice. Notice how she sounds 1,000,000% better after Eat You Up. Also, try dancing to Eat You Up, it's not danceable. Then dance to Lose Your Mind, no problem. I despise Eat You Up and Energetic. 2 WORST songs on the album, whey they led the release is beyond me. I Did It For Love is OK, but not great.
